From the mine to the hills
20 and 27 June. From the belly of the earth to the top of the hill: two days to discover the history of the suggestive copper mine, retracing the streets, roads and paths trodden by miners to go to work and to return home. We will take you by the hand to learn about the history of the Montecatini Val di Cecina mine, today the Mining Museum, known as the most important copper mine in Europe in the 1800s.

A path that will start from the old tunnels, and then continue outside the mine and up to the top of "Poggio alla Croce". The itinerary will end in the historic center of Montecatini, where the medieval Belforti Tower dominates, mentioned in the novel by Gabriele D'Annunzio "Maybe that yes maybe not"You will live a day immersed in a context of great naturalistic interest and rich in memories and stories to be discovered!

Costs: € 20 per participant, including environmental guide and lunch basket with typical local products (bread, focaccia, pecorino, cacciatorino, tomatoes, raw ham, wine, water and dessert) provided by "Pane Gusto e Fantasia" of Montecatini Val di Cecina.
Availability: min. 6 max 15 participants. Max 2 dogs allowed. In case of registered quota not reached, the excursion will be postponed
